Subject: Good sound, good show, great band!
I think the sound is very good for an audience recording. Generally I prefer soundboards, but as long as the crowd noise isn't over-bearing and there aren't too many yaw-hoos yelling & screaming or worse people talking non-stop near the tapers (STFUA!) it's kind of cool to hear the band & crowd getting off together.

Agree with Acoustic1: I too am a huge Dead fan but haven't found anything close to filling that void since Jerry died, & RRE is my new fav band, too. They've definitely something special going on on-stage at a RRE concert. That said, I wish FGH would get back together, maybe they could do a dual tour--a night of RRE followed by a night of FGH at each stop along the way!

Thanks to those of you who recommended other RRE shows to listen to as well as other bands (David Nelson Band & Guilty Pleasures) I will def be checking them out.

As always, God bless the Tapers!!

Subject: Good show, yes, but the audio doesn't make it worth 5 stars!
OK, I'll concede that this is a high-energy show. The song selection is good and it's obvious the band's energy level is UP THERE. But to rave about the high quality of this audience recording? No way. Kudos for the taper for making this available. However, the taper catches too much ambient noise. If you want to hear a 5-star audience recording, check out Railroad Earth's show at Eugene, Oregon, on 1-14-06. THAT is a great audience recording. This is average. So, 5=excellent, 4=very good, 3=good. This is good, IMHO.

Subject: First RRE Show
Fresh off the Phil & Friends show at the Bill Graham Civic, and I had to see these guys. Amazing show & energy, and one of the best fan bases out there. Barry Sless on pedal steel really seemed to fire up RRE. Tim Carbone & John Skeehan dueling from respective sides of the stage provided some great moments musically and with classic facial expressions! Awesome venue, intimate with great sound.

Subject: The Bomb!!!!!
Wow, my first listen to these guys. I am a big Dead fan and since Jerry's passing It has been hard to find another band with the magic, but this band is tight.

I have found more than a few good bands on the Archives on this site, but this one is right up there in my favorites.

Great job at the taping Sandy, I really appreciate your sharing this.

Hey smarcus, this might be a stupid question but have you tried mkwACT software? its free and I believe you can download it from this site. Go to help with downloads and it will lead you from there.

Great site glad I stummbled across it. I stumbled across it while looking at David Nelson Band site whom by the way has some great stuff on this site.

Subject: Help With shn
I am trying to convert these files from shn to wav so that I can burn CD's, but all I am able to do is listen on my computer (Dell E310). When I used a Mac it was simple to do this, just point and click.

What am I doing wrong? The help files on this website are two and three years old and some of the links no longer work...

HELP!!!

Oh, yea. I like what I heard over my computer enough to go to my first RailRoad Earth concert at The Fillmore last night. My new favorite band.

I got goosebumps hearing the crowd sing along to the beginning of Head--this was a bad one to not be at!

Okay I will admit I'm a little biased. This was my first dose of live RRE. Great setlist. Barry Sless was sure a treat. The licks traded between John, Tim and Barry during Head are fantastic. I was right upfront and these guys never stop. The perma grin on todds face. Thats whats so cool about these guys they love what they do and they do it so damn good. Thanks to the tapers.
One side note about Phil. At the Shoreline(6-21-89)the crowd starts chanting, "We want Phil". Jerry grabs the mike and says, "Who the hells Phil?"
to add onto what onerailroad said, after Tim said Phil couldnt make it it was a disappointment all the way until they started their next song(about a minute)RRE is really this good. Can you imagine what it wouldve been like RRE and GD!!!

Subject: NICE!
Nice show here. I have found that AUD recordings with this band are tough. They get WAY low and LOT's of crowd Chatter. But this one is Pretty, Nice Bass, and not too too much Crowd Chatter.....Thanks for the upload!
BTW..Phil Who?!?! I can't believe you even went there...PHIL LESH! Thats WHO!
